About our School

Naihati Narendra Vidyaniketan, established in the heart of the cultural heritage city of Naihati has long been the centre of education and culture to the people of this area. This educational institute was established in 1933. Among the people whose co-operation and financial help had made the establishment of this institution possible are, Dr. Roy's family, Mr. Dutta's Family, Mr. Sailen Dutta (ex-secretary), Mr. Suren Dutta (ex-secretary) and Mr. Amal Kr. Dutta (Former Headmaster of the Institution) are worth mentioning. Then Mr. Ardhendu Mohan Bhattacharya took the responsibility of this institution as the Headmaster of the institution and marched along the milestones of development. The people of Naihati still remember his love for his students and his devotion towards the development of this institution. Today's Naihati Narendra Vidyaniketan stands on government aid and co-operation, aided by Sarvo Siksha Mission, Samagra Siksha Abhiyan and also on the aid and help of the local people. In the recent past, many studious and intelligent students have passed from this institution and established themselves successfully in different spheres of life. Naihati Narendra Vidyaniketan stand as one of the best schools in the Barrackpore Educational District. In 1986 Mr. Sabyasachi Banerjee , a student of this institution stood first in the Madhyamik Examination in all West Bengal from this institution. Our school was recognised as a Higher Secondary institution from 1962. Science, arts and commerce - all three streams are taught at the higher secondary level here. Well equipped laboratories and a rich library stands in support of our educational system. The school has different rooms for science section accompanied by well-equipped and up-graded laboratories of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography,Nutrition. Moreover, the N.C.C and N.S.S stand as the pride of our school. Digital classes are also provided to each class of both medium.

Along with the academic development the school is always aware of providing adequate scope for playing a wide range of games thus contributing greatly to the growth of the might and muscles of the student. Our students regularly participate in inter-school and inter-district cricket and football. Our students have also acquired the first position in national level Table Tennis. We have International Table Tennis player in our school.

Our institution is dutifully marching ahead with the vow to spread education among all sections of the society. To help the poor and intelligent students, our institution offers scholarships and free books. In this task, we are constantly being helped by the people of Naihati, interested in education. Our MLA Mr. Partha Bhowmik had inaugurated our air-conditioned computer room, Multi-Gym. He has also obliged us by presenting a soundless generator for the institution from his MLA fund. We are very much thankful and are highly obliged to him for his co-operation. Indan Oil Corporation has also helped us in different ways. For this too we express our heartfelt thanks. Our institution is Govt Sponsored High School. We have achieved another glory for our school as we have started our English Medium Section in 2016 from Class V to Class XII for the benefit of the society in general. This is the only Govt. Sponsored School in North 24 Parganas where both Bengali and English Medium are running side by side successfully with a huge number of students in both medium.

Teaching and nonteaching staffs, Managing Committee Members and a few well wishers of our beloved school have come forward to help COVID 19 and lock down affected people of our State by donating Rs.1,15,000/-(One lakh fifteen thousand rupees) to CHIEF MINISTER’S EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND on 30th March,2020. Our Alumni Association helps our needy students. Our teachers are taking Online classes of our students regularly for the benefit of students.

Naihati Narendra Vidyaniketan is very close to our heart. We wish all best of luck towards the improvement of this institution.
